We love to have them come home and are always sad to see them go, yet it is right that they continue their education, following their dreams, for our eldest two are now 20 and 23. Although their visits overlapped by only three days, we did manage a fun barbecue lunch at a lookout less than an hour's drive from home. I had been here once before, about 17 years ago, when the twins were little babies.
A pleasant drive but not a particularly impressive lookout nor facilitates to encourage visitors (other than cows!). The company however was the very best and that's what really matters.

great spring photos :-)
You have such a beautiful family. You can see their joy for life and beauty just radiating from them all.
Wonderful photos of your family day out. Such a beautiful fringed violet, I've never seen one in real life. It looks bigger than I thought.
Ah the national sport of Australia. Barbecue. I remember from my visit in 2004 the by gouvernement installed barbecues. Throw in a coin and you had an electric heated plate to barbecue and the occasional emoe to clean the plate from fat. Always nice with family. Hope you had some nice days.
Glorious photos of your family outing, Karen. How pretty is that fringed violet!
It certainly appears as though you and your husband have given them a good foundation...those smiles, those confident happy faces! It has been a privilege to see these glimpses of their growing :) A wonderful quiver-full to be sure! (Were those marshmallows...pink?!)
Sarah your kind words are like a balm to the soul. :)
Yes, some pink and some white marshmallows. Sometimes we buy a mixed packet of pastels or even a packet of pink and white swirl marshmallows. Master T is allergic to sulphur and also cocoa, so he can’t eat sausages or chocolate (unless it’s white chocolate) but he loves marshmallows!
You do indeed have beautiful children!! What a delight to have them all home for even a short time!! Your photos are superb and started my new day off with lots of smiles!! Thank you SO much for sharing these, Karen! I hope all of you have a great new week!!
I love all of your shots Karen and how beautiful these dear children are. What jewels our children are... true gifts from God. The wonderful thing about these comings and goings are that they will be ongoing.. changing... but something to look forward to all of our lives as we age. And wow... you will have so many gorgeous grandchildren over the years... more gifts to come.
Time with grown children once they're away at school is precious. Lovely photo of your kids. Enjoy them at all ages and stages.
Fantastic green and butterfly pictures. Beautiful group.
Greetings,
Filip
Lovely images! ;)
I'm so happy you did get time together as a family, Karen! Beautiful pictures of your outing :)
So nice to have all your children home and have a lunch together in nature. Very nice pictures of your beautiful children and the surroundings. Gorgeous fringed flower too, never seen that before.
beautiful photos! tis good to get out into the spring air isn't it?
Beautiful photos of a wonderful day out and lovely family.
Lovely images and scenery! And your family is beautiful! Have a happy week!
Dear Karen, what a beautiful family and how lovely it is when they come home for a while. That looks a pretty spot on the river even if the facilities were not great! Did you find that butterfly there? I believe it is a Tailed Emperor. I happen to have looked it up as we had one in the garden for just one brief moment and I haven't seen one since. Just lovely.
Oh thank you Jane, I do believe it is Tailed Emperor butterfly - one which I haven't seen before. Yes it was at the picnic site.
I love the pictures of your family. They are so beautiful. Everything here is perfect!
Everyone else has said it before me. You are to be complimented for bringing up such a confident, happy , clever bunch of kids. Well done! The photos are wonderful as always. I can imagine the joy and pleasure to have them all home at the same time, even if for only 3 days.
It's hard to let go, but the smart person cherishes the moments together. WONDERFUL family photo!
A wonderful series of images Karen. It's so nice to see so much green in the landscape.
What a beautiful family photo! They grow up way too fast!
What a gorgeous picture of your family and having them all together even for a short while must have been the most precious time ever!
Memories being made...that's what mothers love to do. Which two are twins?
Hi Cathy, the twins are the two 17 year old girls with really curly long blonde hair, although you can't appreciate Miss N's hair she nearly always wears in in a plait. In the last photo Miss G is on top of the rock and Miss N is standing beside the rock wearing the navy cap and maroon shirt.
What a wonderful family. It's hard to see them leave AND you wouldn't want it any other way! Love the images of butterflies too!
Wonderful photos of a beautiful place, and all the kids. How they've grown since I first started following you!
It was certainly a very nice family gathering, and to do so in a beautiful location. Adorable baby photos. At the flower and butterfly was also nice to look at. Regards.
