Pieces of Mother's Day

After a wonderful morning of gifts (plants and chocolates) and church, we gathered presents, food and children to visit my parents-in-love for a Mother's Day afternoon tea. We had a pleasant afternoon together, during which I enjoyed a wander around their yard with my camera.....

....followed by a sunset drive home (we live about an hour away). I trust your day was pleasant also.

  6. Hi Susanne, thanks for visiting and your encouraging comment. We are spoilt for natural beauty in Australia, but then I think the same could be said of most countries.

  8. I recognize most of the flora, astounding photographs! But the birds must be all yours! We do not see those here in my place of abode. I would probably swoon with delight at such spottings of feathered creatures.

The cake made my mouth water, is it strawberry or raspberry I am wondering?

  9. Hi Cathy. Yes, the Eastern Rosella parrots are Australian. I would have loved to have taken a better photo but they are wild free birds and still wanted to include them. No doubt you are familiar with pelicans, although there are slight variations.
We live in a larger town and still have a range of birds visit, sometimes colourful ones too.
Elise made the cake (MIL fav is a sponge) and is filled with cream and raspberry jam.
