Bayside Walk

.

Let me share a little more of our Sunny Sunday....... visiting with my parents-in-love.

I have never noticed this flower before

These are the "buds"

LOVE this grevillea, will try to find one to grow in our garden

Low tide at the bay, taken from the children's play park

Miss E and some of her sisters still love a play at the park

Banksia at the park, showing several stages of the flower

Rainbow Lorikeet feeding on nectar from another grevillea

Another previously unnoticed flower

Back again

Another bayside beauty, happily growing on the banks.

It was a lovely winter's walk, and today is just as sunny!

  13. Thank you for all your lovely comments. We do live in a lovely part of the world - this spot is about an hours drive from home. I think there is beauty to be found everywhere, some places just require us to look a bit harder than others.

I plan to look in our local hardware/nursery for this grevillea and other treasures one day soon.

  30. Beautiful. But I must still ask, did you make her dress? She is adorned in beauty too.

  31. Hi Cathy, no I didn't make this dress although I have made a couple of smocked dresses. My Mum found this dress in a thrift shop, like new. Miss V, who os now 7, also had a couple of years wear out of this gorgeous one.

Your daisy shots below are grand as well.

In answer to your comment on my photoblog about how I made the image. I have an old Corel photo program that makes the image into a circle automatically on a click - easy. :)

  50. I love the grevillea, what a beautiful flower!
I first learned of Rainbow Lorikeets at the Cincinatti Zoo, the Lorikeet Landing, where you get a cup of nectar and they come right to you a drink/eat it. I had three on me and had my husband get the one off my head!
I also love the sail boats.
    What beautiful children you have!
