Hockey Finale

A beautiful sunny day set the scene for hockey grand final day in our town today. With the temperature peaking at 33 C (about 90 F) we are grateful hockey is a winter sport. We all came along to watch and encourage our twins. Their team had been undefeated all season.

It was a tough game, especially in the heat. Most spectators were seeking the shelter of shade, but not all.

We headed back to our family vehicle/bus with grateful hearts. I love this old church near the sports fields.

Three season of hockey, three grand finals but this is the first grand final they have won. They were very relieved and pleased. All thoughts are now focusing on the upcoming cricket season.

  1. I love the way you keep track of everything that happens with your family. How are you keeping them for later. I for instance have 65 scrapbooks full of pictures from 1975 when my first child was born. And since we have digital photography I must admit keeping them is much more difficult. I lost perhaps a few hundred in chrashes and have trouble to pick the one's I like. Let alone print them.

  2. Good question S.C.
I started scrapbooking a few years ago but time and space to create them became too difficult. There is also the issue of storage space with so many to scrapbooks for. I do try to have prints made of my favourite photos and place them in photo albums now.
If ever our home was destroyed or damaged they would be lost.

I have recently subscribed to my own blog via email and RSS, hoping that in the event of my blog being deleted/disappearing I would have some access to my past posts. Even though my images aren't full-size, it would be something.

I have uploaded a few photos to an online storage site but this is time-consuming and may not be permanent.

Living the memories and knowing our real treasures and home is in heaven I relax some over the possible issues.

I think you have to remain positive that your precious photos will be safe forever.

  4. Thank you Nadege. I agree with you about our photos, hope for the best yet not making idols out of them. Funny how I/we can become so attached to photos.

  6. Thank you for my morning treats.
I look forward to your posts.
One solution for storing is DVD's. I have boxes of them now, both at home and with family. Just in case:-)

  13. What a great set of photos! The colours are lovely! Congratulations to the girls on their win!!
I have an external hard drive and I do regular backups of my photos and documents. The photos take a little while especially now I have the new camera and the files are so big but well worth the time. I would be devastated if I lost my photos... I love looking back and reminiscing!
