My little songbird sang loud and clear morning and afternoon, making up the song as she went.
The day dawned cool and foggy. The pecan nut tree by the levee wall stands bare as wild ducks scavenge underneath.
Another Livingstone Daisy reveals its face for the first time, fresh as .... a daisy!
Two hours later and the stamens are busting open.
As it faces the afternoon sunshine, the stem clearly reveals its succulent nature.
The smokey haze created a wonderful sunset as I walked over the bridge. The sun was actually bright red, not white. Can anyone tell me how to capture the red setting sun? (I was using my super zoom here.)
A day of delights, yet my happy songbird with her tennis ball microphone, is my very favourite memory.....

ReplyDeleteMomentos lindíssimos captados pelas tuas lentes! beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteI love miss E.'s expression... you can see she is really feeling the words she sings :)
ReplyDeleteLove the bee on the english lavender.
As for your sun, you can try using a filter but I would choose a manual setting on your camera! It's time to learn to control the light :) Once you start playing in manual, you'll discover a new way to enhance your photographs.
Start with the Lumix, it might be easier.

ReplyDeleteAmazing shots. She is very cute.
ReplyDeleteAmazing pictures, your little songbird is indeed special.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, capturing the setting sun is very difficult apart from the face that it is very bright and you can easily damage your camera's sensor and your eyes too, it can be difficult to capture the colours of a sunset with a camera. All the tips I have seen state that underexposure is the best way to capture a sunsets colours, and its best to wait until the sun is just above the horizon and the atmosphere is thicker between your camera and the sun to shoot, also using Center Weighted Average metering may help too. Lots of tips on Youtube and Google photographing sunsets may help you. Thanks for sharing, love the Macro shots of the bee too:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous series of photos! Your sunset shot is amazing as well as the close up of your bee. It looks like you have quite the singer.
ReplyDeleteThose photos of your daughter singing are charming Karen. I can understand why you feel like that. Excellent close-up pics of the Livingstone Daisies too. They are one of my favourite bedding flowers - Dave

Another beautiful series, Karen! I've missed so much here on Blogger as I have been somewhat absent (only posting a few times a week... but only once last week). I've missed your wonderful posts as I've only been on to post some images and then off again. Life has been somewhat challenging over the last few months.
ReplyDeleteWhere to begin...I love all of these photos so much, I'm speechless (and that doesn't happen often!).
ReplyDeleteYour songbird is precious...probably my favorite photos I've seen since I joined blogland...and the bees? Well, this post was a little bit of heaven!
