Palette Builder

Yesterday I discovered another new "toy"! A Palette Builder which creates swatches matched to the Kona Cotton fabric range! Brilliant for those interested in quilting or any sewing.

You can find it here at Play Crafts, where you can use it online or choose to save your palettes to computer for further use. You can move the little circles around to hone in on the colours you are most interested in highlighting.

I've had such fun this afternoon with a little cross stitch, something which was once my go-to craft but which I haven't touched for years. Last weekend I drew up a design and chose colours from my extensive cottons collection. It feels so good to do a little stitching again.

We've had some very welcome autumn showers over the last few days. I had fun snapping a wet camellia flower using Waterlogue and couldn't resist creating a colour palette to match.

Early last Sunday we had an unusually thick mist/fog. This view of our church yard reminds me of scenes from far away countries.

Hoping this coming weekend entails a little fun in whatever your chosen activities may be!

  1. BLOGHOPPING!

Oh wow. I didn't know there was a software for palette building. I'm amazed. Well, for someone who has no talent in cross-stitching like me (haha), this is new. My grandmother used to make huge pieces out of cross-stitching. But I never got her talent.

Going through your colorful blog now :)

  15. thanks for sharing the palette discovery, Karen -- still living in a brown world here but stumbled onto a nursery during my weekend visit to southern Pennsylvania that has just set out pansies for sale -- going home with pansies!!!

  17. Love those colour palettes with the pictures. I'll have a look at it.
Cross-stitching was once thé thing for me as well but it's been a while since I did some cross stitching, or any other handy crafts, for months now. I never seem to find the time for any of that anymore.
I did get my cross stitch Easter eggs sampler from the attic this weekend though. It's on the cupboard again with a bouquet of tulips I brought from the grocery store, gave me a good feeling to give the house a bit of an 'almost Easter' atmosphere.

  18. Just had to try out this palette builder but each time I try to load one of my pictures, nothing happens.... No idea what's wrong. I'll try again tomorrow. One hour less sleep for us tonight as we go to daylight saving time. Do you have that in Australia as well, but then opposite to here, so you'll have one hour of sleep extra? I just wondered.... ;)
    Bye,
    Marian

  20. Interesting names for the colours. I took a tool of Cleverprinting. Here I got the colours what I can combinate.

Love your needle-work: At once the Cross stitch and of course the sewing. I see you take Gütermann Yarn .... It's a well known German Yarn.

  24. I really like the mood of the photo of the trees in your church's yard. Hoping your week got off to a good start - having difficulty with here, no phone or internet connection for the last 48 hours, it appears the rain has affected a major phone line in the area, do I just have to quickly upload onto my blog when I get to a place that 'works', typing now while waiting to pick up miss r from jazz.
