My garden loves me more than I deserve - and I'm not complaining. Watching my Red Intuition rose produce beautiful blooms, one after the other is delightful.
Mother's Day brought more than just gardening assistance - they certainly delivered on the suggested chocolates - with plenty to share (which was the idea)!
Master J came home from uni for a few days to join his old school's Duke of Ed. camp. They bushwalked through the Minyon Falls area.
This is near the top of the falls - you can just see the Pacific Ocean on the far horizon to the left.
While Master J was away on camp we bought an outdoor fireplace for some family fun. It's surprising how quickly two packets of marshmallows can disappear!
My order of Gutermann Extra Fine threads arrived, cleverly packaged to keep postage costs to a minimum. I'm thoroughly enjoying hand sewing with these threads - and have ordered three more colours.
Gift of Grace is the name of this rose. It was gifted to me some years ago but it has struggled along in a pot until recently. Now that it's been planted in the garden it is rewarding me with the biggest rose blooms I've seen.
We are enjoying a magnificently warm week for the end of autumn, so we enjoyed a quick visit to a local park today. The weather is just too gorgeous to not enjoy such wonderful outdoor surrounds.
Sharing at Our World Tuesday.
What fun-filled family times you always seem to share. How lovely to sit by a fire and roast marshmallows and look into the embers. I'm supposing those chocolates weren't stacked in an orderly high rise for very long. What a glorious rose your 'Gift of Grace' is, quite stunning...but then a name 'gift of grace' could be nothing but bounteous, could it.
ReplyDeleteSłodki prezent dostałaś na Dzień Matki. W pięknym miejscu są dzieci na obozie. Jednakże Twój spacer z dziećmi w parku jest również uroczy. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteSweet gift you got for Mother's Day. The children are beautiful place to camp. However, your walk with the children in the park is also charming. Yours.
What beautiful roses Karen! The bush must be enjoying spreading its roots, like your son is, hopefully! Melbourne weather has been equally Spring-like today! It will hopefully make winter, when it surely arrives, a little more bearable! Happy days!
ReplyDeleteLove the pics. great to have J home for a short visit. Didn't know the park had new equipment!! a visit to the park is on order now
ReplyDeleteThe previous equipment was sadly destroyed by fire late last year. We hadn’t been for a visit until Saturday’s very quick quilt photo shoot so thought a proper visit was in order! The general consensus amongst our children is that the new play equipment is more dangerous than the old.
ReplyDeleteI know I should be drawn to the beauty in the photos, but really I am just imagining what Lindt Zest of Lime tastes like :-)
ReplyDeletegorgeous imagines!:)
ReplyDeleteLovely Family Life .... Wonderful roses, and many excellent chocolate: It seems, it was a fantastic day :)
ReplyDeleteYou live in such a beautiful area of the world Karen. Such amazing nature! Breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous roses in your garden. Mine are all in large pots as you know but are now all hanging down again, some branches broken, since it's been raining so much. I think we don't really have a climate for growing roses, too much rain. The Hydrangeas are looking more promising. Can't wait for them to bloom.
The outside fireplace looks like so much fun and nice to sit around all together. Brings back memories of campfires in the Ardens when I was younger.
Have a lovely Autumn day Karen, Spring here looks(and feels) more like Autumn right now as well actually ;) Think I'll bake a cake ;)
Marian

ReplyDeleteHi Karen, May has certainly delivered some wonderful gifts your way. Happens to me, too. I'm a May baby, very close to Mother's Day, some years even ON Mother's Day. So I am inundated with beautiful gifts and words. Love May, and I love those roses!!

Have a great week. I am joining you at Our WOrld Tuesday.
Wow, great chocolate overload. My roses are still flowering and oh dear, oh dear, my tulips ar coming up . . . in autumn!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely when the children do nice things for one on Mothers' Day and every other day too.
That waterfall is amazing! I love seeing the landscape shots. You live in a beautiful country!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful local park! I don't recall this one but perhaps I was far too busy during the 11 months we lived in your town. I had a preschooler and was pregnant, hospitalised a few times and gave birth to my second child.
