Tomorrow night, August 11th, will be the second and the largest of this year's three Supermoons. This evening I accidentally saw the almost full moon rising and hope to see the Supermoon just a little later tomorrow evening.
If you also enjoy watching the night sky it should be a good one to try and catch if the sky is clear in your corner of the world - what a beautiful sight it should be.
Sharing at SkyWatch Friday.
Oh, I too like watching the night sky but at this moment it's raining at last after a long time. Good for the garden, but I wonder if we have a clear sky tonight or tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteWish you a lovely new week at the other end of the world!

ReplyDeleteIt is supposed to rain here tomorrow evening, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't.
Happy Sunday to you!
amazing! complimenti!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope it clears up here! Beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteWe were at the drive-in theatre last night and noticed the moon looking like your pic. Thought it was very bright and beautiful. We will def be looking out again tonight!
ReplyDeleteThe way it's raining down here this morning, I don't like our chances of seeing anything. I will have to see it through lens Karen!
ReplyDeleteJust saw it! So bright and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful shot of the moon!
ReplyDeleteTried to get a shot Sunday night on night setting with tripod and was getting terrible shots:( have used that setting before with good results so I don't know.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow I said to David, bet Karen got some good shots, and you did:)
Dear Karen
ReplyDeleteSupermoon and superphoto!

I went out on Sunday night to capture it. It was a real challenge to shoot while the sun had still not set and to shoot it in a full landscape at ISO 100 rather than just a close up. I had fun, along with so many other photographers at Wellington Point.
ReplyDeleteThe true "Super Moon" at 100% was actually at moonset on Monday morning (4am) I discovered. That was when I decided that Sunday night would be just as good as Monday night with both nights being around 99.6%
Gorgeous shot! We went out by the river to watch the moonrise and got some pretty cool photographs but not without getting bitten by hoards of mosquitoes, haha!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteA lovely sky and a beautiful capture of the moon! The colors are gorgeous.. Happy skywatching!
ReplyDeleteA marvellous shot Karen. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot... exposure is perfect!
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI flew from Sydney to Melbourne on Sunday evening, with that very moon at my left the whole way home. What a spectacular sight. I've never seen anything like it from that perspective before. I didn't take any pics, so I'll just have to rely on yours. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings for a wonderful weekend,
Dotti
