A Little Sunshine

The weather has been cool and wet each day since Monday's sunny Athletics Carnival. A little sunshine snuck through the clouds today, so welcome after its absence.

One more gerbera, yet to reveal its colours, still holds its secret close.

Today

African daisies continue to bloom constantly, adding bright pops of colour to our winter garden.

The bulbs I planted are slowly growing, I think these must be ranunculus as the foliage is unfamiliar.

More happy daisies, soaking up the brief sunlight. Winter is so much nicer with a little sunshine!

I love that fifth photo! I need a macro lens. Cool and wet weather sounds wonderful- it's summer here and I live in a part of the U.S. that gets blazing hot and summer drags by. But it gets pretty hot in Australia when you have summer too, doesn't it?

Beautiful colours and wonderful macros!

Hi Nicole....I don't have a macro lens but a macro conversion lens - you'll find more details here http://piecesofcontentment.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/dancing-and-singing.html

Yes, we do have long hot summers, not as hot as many areas of Australia (thankfully).

Chciałabym, aby mi takie piękne kwiaty rosły chociaż jesienią w ogrodzie, bo o zimie to nawet pomarzyć nie ma sensu. Piękne zdjęcia. Pozdrawiam.
I wish me such beautiful flowers growing in the garden in autumn though, because the winter is even dream does not make sense. Beautiful pictures. Yours.

I love the flowers. Your Macro work is so pretty! The photos in your shop are simply stunning! May I ask what type of lens you use? I'm just starting out with photography, but someday I'd like to have a Macro.

You achieve such great color and clarity with your magnifier! I practiced again this morning. Sometimes I get a "tunnel effect" - not sure why. Let us know what color that bloom is when the bud fully opens!

Beautiful shots! I love the detail and color in the last one. Thank you for sharing!

I love the shot of the bud before it bloomed. They are all fantastic as usual, but that one is so magnificent. I love the details. I could just reach out and touch it.
