Earlier this week - or very, very late last year - Miss V celebrated her 10th birthday. Always an occasion for fun and games, presents and baking, we shared the day together as a family at home, as well as a quick visit to Granny in the local aged care centre. Miss O made and decorated cupcakes topped with "V"s while Miss E senior baked the requested mocha birthday cake.
Speaking of cake -
Miss E senior made the yummiest Christmas Pudding Truffles yesterday with some of a very large fruit cake she had baked for Christmas. A wonderfully quick and easy recipe - she used orange juice in place of brandy. I do believe there is only one left.....

Awesome pictures and that cupcakes look simply delicious. Hugs for Miss V on her special occasion :)
A funny portrait of your daughter. Looks for me sometimes heavy to have a birthday party between so much festivities but no problem here so to see. Nice little reportage again.
Happy b-day, love her expression! :-)

I'm always impressed with the baking & confectionery skills of your children, Karen. Those truffle balls look amazing.
It looks like she had a wonderful birthday!! I remember my first Derwent pencils at much the same age. And 4 years later, I remember getting a set of 72 from my grandparents! I still have most of them but at about half the original size.
happy belated birthday to miss v! it looks like your family knows how to celebrate properly with lots of family fun and delicious treats, very little extra unnecessary fuss. =) perfect!
