'This is MY Place!'

The squawking wasn't peaceful! As I walked into my bedroom yesterday morning I knew something was up. There was a vocal battle of the miniatures going on just outside my window!

So what had upset this juvenile/teenager *Lewin's Honeyeater?

None other than a Big, Bad (tiny, cute) Superb Blue Fairy Wren and his gorgeous little mate!

Seems this little Honeyeater has plans of his own!

Mission accomplished, this place is MINE he declares!

* We think it is a juvenile Lewin's Honeyeater but we are willing to be corrected - it is possibly a Yellow-Faced Honeyeater, both are native to our area of Australia.

I like to watch the birds to "quarrel", as long as there began to fight. That I do not really like. Regards.

Oh you got some good ones didn't you! The Honeyeater puts me a bit in mind of our cuckoos, maybe a bit smaller. Phew, sure glad they got that settled :)

Very beautiful images! :)

Great photos Karen. The same battles rage at our place. Mr Fairy Wren wakes us every morning by flying at the low window in our bedroom over and over again. We assume he's fighting with his reflection.

Fabulous bird shots. You are lucky to still have these birds around. We used to but now the noisy minors have chased them all away.

Wonderful bird pictures and most interesting because these ones are unknown in our part of the world. Especially the Honeyeter is a beauty.
