First Light

This gorgeous poppy bloom first saw the light of day yesterday. The photos above were taken at 7:30 as the sunlight was just beginning to beam it's soft rays onto the brand new petals.

An hour later the fresh flower warms in the gentle morning light.

Another hour sees it's beauty spread wide.

Early this morning, our "new" poppy is bowed down trying to shelter from last night's rain, still beautiful in it's own way.

  29. Of all these photos, my favorite is the 5th photo. If I could peek inside the screen and look to the left, I think the sun light would warm my face. Very colorful, crisp, and warm.

Poppies are my favourite flowers because of their tenderness, their delicateness, their meaning in our culture, their simplicity and their complexity at the same time, their colour(s) and many many more reasons. Your photographic eye shows their beauty in a very special way. Loved to see these photos and will come back, whenever I need this treat :)
