Long Awaited

Several times over the last few months Miss O has asked "Do you think I could have a goldfish for my birthday?"

We celebrated two birthdays while our painting was underway, eating with plates perched on laps where ever we could find a spot to sit. Miss O (above) turned 10 and the answer given was "YES, after we finish painting".

Today was the long awaited time. With several siblings accompanying us we made our special not-just-looking visit to the pet shop.

Fish tank, food, ornaments and fish were carefully chosen and meticulously watched over. Our collection of white stones and a selection of treasured shells were washed and thoughtfully arranged.

Fancy Nancy and Buttercup have settled in well to their new home. A happy ending, or beginning, for all concerned.

Sharing at Photo Story Friday, Weekend Reflections.
