I was very excited when I spotted buds on our small orange tree,
hoping for our first ever home-grown oranges.
With joy I tracked their growth......

And then it was no more.....
Our little orange tree will be using all its energy into growing bigger and stronger leaves and branches.
Maybe next year the "promise" of sweet juicy oranges will come to fruition.

so much fragility in these images! great work.:)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of the blossoms. Ah, the hope and promise of fruit...then discovering that you have to wait until next season again...it reminds me that a lot of the joy in growing things is just about watching and enjoying the tree and the blossoms...
ReplyDeleteŚliczne zdjęcia pąków i kwiatów pomarańczy. Życzę Ci, żebyś miała dużo owoców na drzewie :-). Pozdrawiam
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing series. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI hope for you that next year, the promise of juicy fruit will come to fruition.
Wonderful photos. I have never seen an orange tree. Fantastic blossom and gentle forms. Great !

I completely understand! The same thing happens to our tree every year. We planted an orange tree about four years ago. We're still waiting for our first orange! Maybe this year!
ReplyDeletea lovely sequence of photographs, hope you have many oranges to come..
ReplyDeletewow! these are so pretty!! what a great series.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo series, too bad the fruit did not develop, but there is always next season to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteDelightful captures and beautiful blossoms even if they did use up all the energy growing the leaves and branches! Hopefully next year the oranges will put in an appearance! Hope your weekend is going well! Enjoy!

So very kind of you to stop by. I have much to learn with my D200. I'm a new follower. I love your photos.
ReplyDeleteI was getting so excited with each new stage of the blossoming and then, only disappointment. I was almost beginning to smell the oranges.
ReplyDeletegreat series of photos, amazing how fast they grow. Sorry they did not get furter but think of it like this: you are anyway able to have such tree growing outside in your garden wich I don't :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sequence of photos ... hope there are sweet oranges next year!

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful series of images from beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you get some fruit next year!
A beautiful sequence of photos - there may not have been any oranges but the beauty of those orange blossoms surely foretell a sweet, delicious future. I truly enjoy your blog (a highlight of the day) and a had to 'borrow' your music. Sincere thanks!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos!
ReplyDeleteIs this an orange tree or a lemon tree? I took the photo during a vacation in Dubrovnik.
(the photo in the link)
I salute your tenacity, tracking the development of the flower. Hope the orange tree is stronger by next year.

ReplyDeleteI loved following the progress of your blossoms. What a delight. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAww, so sorry your tree didn't produce any fruit for you, but it certainly made for some fabulous shots! Maybe next year. :)
ReplyDeleteLove those sequences you do.
ReplyDeleteDo you leave your tripod out for a few days? The images always seem spot on from the same angle.
A lovely series. Send some scent over as well. What happens next?
ReplyDeleteI don't own a working tripod. I just estimate and then crop and adjust on the computer to help bring the photos into "alignment".
ReplyDeleteOh I love how you have tracked the growth of these little buds. It produced a lovely flower. Never mind you will eventually get lots of lovely oranges and how great will that be - lucky you. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI take series shots too!
ReplyDeleteIt is so exciting to experience it and share!
A beautiful and interesting post, I hope you get some fruit next year :)
ReplyDeleteI love Ellie's comment that 'eventually' you will get lots of lovely oranges...
ReplyDeleteI wonder how often that happens in our lives... we seem to blossom and show promise of great things then it is finished and people show disappointment and we feel discouragement at the seemingly failure of our lives.
God is always working in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. We will have a harvest if we wait patiently for it.
Sometimes we must search out our hearts and see if there be anything we need to be feeding it... but like your tree sometimes we just need to put our strength into growing stronger before the fruit will come.
I absolutely LOVE this series of photographs! So many time I have thought about doing this, and then for one reason or another, never followed through. You have inspired me to do so. Now all I have to do is wait the many months for spring to arrive!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing at The Creative Exchange.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
lisa.
