...all the time.
My father-in-love's health has declined rapidly over the last three weeks, multiple health issues and age are catching up with him very quickly. The doctor has suggested he has little time left, fewer weeks than you can count on one hand.
He has been cared for wonderfully in the aged care centre which he moved into on Christmas Eve. His 86th birthday is late this month but all would be both delighted and also very sad if he has passed on to heaven by that time. His faith in Jesus's saving grace is unshakable, heaven awaits, along with family and friends who have gone before him.
Late this week a permanent bed become available in the same aged care centre for my mother-in-law, only a few rooms away from my father-in-law's room. She has moved in already, now they are able to spend these last precious days together again. God has been very good to us all.
Precious last moments on earth. Yes, heaven awaits for all of us. A.much better place:)
ReplyDeleteFor all who believe, it is a wonderful hope to live by.
ReplyDeleteHow sad, I wish your FIL's last days be at peace and painfree. I am sure heaven is waiting for him. My thoughts and prayers are you and your family!
ReplyDeleteEventhough we know the warm hands of heaven are waiting, for everybody it's very hard to say goodbye for the last time. I wish you and your family all the best and strength Karen

How wonderful for them to be together... so glorious that he is about to enter Heaven!! There will be sadness here of course but comfort also as you contemplate the overwhelming joy awaiting him just a few short 'earth' weeks away! A wonderful, glorious Forever Life!! Let it fill us all with joyous expectancy and hope!
ReplyDeleteGod bless them & it's good that they'll be able to spend this time together! Prayers
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful capture
I think it is wonderful that they can spend their remaining time on Earth together. None of us know how long we have so we should all try and make each day a special day.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said! And the photo is gorgeous. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteThis is so very sad Karen. It is a good thing though that your parents in love will be able to spend these last moments together. I hope your father in love isn't in too much pain and that he can peacefully end his life on this earth. Thinking of you and wishing you and your family a lot of strength in this difficult time.

Beautiful image!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!:)
This is very sad news Karen. I hope that you and your family remain strong in this difficult time. It's good to know that both your parents-in-law are close to each other at this moment. What more can they ask for.
ReplyDeleteTry to be with them as much as you can. My prayers are with you and your family. Take care.
Lifting up prayers for you, and your family, during this difficult time.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very lovely photo and a very touching post. We don't have nursing homes for the aged here like in your countries, our oldies are at home with family till they leave this earth. Only those without families are sometimes cared for in nursing homes. When my father was confined in the hospital for 1 month and later died, i stayed there too till the end. God bless your family.
ReplyDeleteOh my this is one of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen...
ReplyDeleteUnconditional Love makes it easier when it's time to go...
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and your family.
How wonderful that your mother in law could move in so close to her husband at this time. We just recently went through this...it is a very sad time when we lose a loved one. My heart aches for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a blessing for them to be together - the way it should be. I'll continue to think of you and your husband and the children during this time.
ReplyDeleteHi Kalantikan,
ReplyDeleteThere are benefits to caring for family at home. My father in law was being cared for at home by his wife with nurses who called in each day for years to help attend him. He has quite extensive medicals needs. I guess if he had been in the Philippines he wouldn't have lived as long - he has had several major surgeries. He's been in a wheel chair for 5 years and has other high needs.
Only last December did he reach the point where he could no longer be cared for at home. He was admitted to hospital and would have had to stay there if it wasn't for a nursing home. We are so grateful a room came up for him at their choice of aged care centres right when he needed it. Each resident in this facility has their own spacious bedroom and adjoining toilet/bathroom. The facility and level of care is wonderful, much more personal and pleasant than hospital.

Una imagen preciosa, hermosa hora del día! Abrazos.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad they get to be together...
ReplyDeleteGod is so very good...
My FIL has also not been doing well since December. Been in hospital, and now skilled nursing center. His birthday is later this month, as well. I'm glad your MIL is able to be near him. My MIL misses her hubby and hopes to get him home for a visit soon. God is good, all the time, I agree. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of all of you.
ReplyDeleteAnd the photo is gorgeous.
Best wishes.
