The First One

The first poppy for the year, what a delight! It's a Shirley Single Poppy, grown from seed. I've not grown this variety before and have loved watching the plants grow and now burst open with a sudden bright pop of colour.

  1. Cudowne zdjecia od pąka do "środeczka" kwiatu maku. U Ciebie teraz będzie coraz ładniej w przyrodzie, a mnie coraz smutniej. Pozdrawiam.
Wonderful pictures from the bud to the "center" poppy flower. You now you will be more nicer in nature, and I'm getting sadder. Yours.

  2. I love to see spring unfolding somewhere as we experience the end of a beautiful summer and head into the darker season of fall and winter. I might need to come to your site for a breath of spring. I also liked your previous post...lots to think about there.

  15. Wonderful group of shots. I didn't know what I was looking at in the top image, so it was especially nice to see the different stages of its development. Thanks for both the artistic entertainment and the education.
