Rich, Indulgent, Delicious






"It's rich, indulgent and so delicious" - that's what the recipe said and it was true! Miss E found the photo/recipe for German Chocolate Cheesecake by Willow Bird Baking and she and her visiting college friend, Miss C, set about making it late last week. We finished eating the last of it today. 




There are six layers in total - the mix of flavours and textures is excellent. It certainly is very rich, somewhat expensive and very time consuming to make. Miss E and Miss C joked with each other about impressing young gentlemen with such a cake one day.


We had the privilege of Mark Hemans visiting our church again this weekend. His teachings and ministry are very refreshing and encouraging. Last night Mark was sharing about how faith focusses on Jesus, the Word of God. Faith sees Jesus and the answer. Satan wants us to focus on the problem. Jesus never focussed on the problem, he focussed on the Father. 
Mark shared wonderful pearls of wisdom, riches for the soul, and prayed for many. 




Today, January 26th, is Australia Day, the day we remember the arrival of the first fleet of convicts/settlers in 1788. Part of today's local celebrations included a Mayor's cricket game. Our twins played (against each other) in the juniors' warm up game on this hot and humid Monday. A very Australian way to commemorate this day and honour our British heritage.

    Oh my goodness, I am suddenly craving chocolate cheesecake! Looks amazingly delicious. And what a great reminder about where our eyes should be fixed - I forget so quickly.

    Certainly Miss E and Miss C. impressed the guys such a great cake. Nice and interesting is celebrated on the Feast and daughters you have had the opportunity to play. Regards

    lots of calories, but seems so good:)

    That cake does look yummy! I've become a fan of the Great British Baking show which has just premiered here in the states -- what wonderful things they bake. No pre-made pie crust from the grocery!!

    One of my favorite things about your family, Karen, is the diversity of talents and interests. The confectionery talents of your kids has always wowed me!
    (I chuckle at the comment of impressing young gentlemen.. We joke that my brother in law was won over by his bride by her magnificent cheesecakes!)

    Yum, that cake looks absolutely delicious, I definitely could not do all this sugar free clean living that seems to be fashionable at present. Another one pinned to make and enjoy.

    I do want to make one of these cakes one day...but it will take a crowd to help eat it...and I have less at home now.

    So I plan to make a rice pudding for Sunday's dessert instead! But while not your "rich, indulgent, delicious" dessert, rice pudding is quite wonderful!

    I am currently working on a new bible study on faith, believing. A real active verb in stead of a noun. Such a difference that it makes when this is an active thing in your life. have you ever heard of Beth Moore? she has a number of bible studies which I love and are always so in depth.
