Half an Hour

Just half an hour from home. Miss N was keen for more driving practice and to share a favourite discovered location with some sisters. It sure was a fun expedition with the added bonus of a log truck to follow back into town. I'm quite enjoying our bonus little local road trips!

It looks so peaceful and lovely.

Neat to see the log filled truck too.

  4. Working on clocking up those hours! Where is this? Looks perfect for one of our nature adventures, that we haven't done for a long time

  5. I would have to agree. So much more interesting to travel some new roads with your learner than just round and round the same town streets........perhaps a metaphor for life also? It's certainly a beautiful spot, it must be warmer there than here.

  6. You are right Susan, a good balance to town driving and parking practice. One twin is at TAFE most the week so the other twin tries to catch extra time on those days. Yesterday warmed up unseasonably to 27 but that water was freezing!

  7. Erin, it’s under a bridge along C Road - I think it must be W Creek. There is no access track so you do need to be careful. Also in some places the sand gave way. In one spot on the other side of the bridge the sand under ankle deep water suddenly gave way on Naomi up to her hips - quite frightening - so you have to be very careful. We visited here a few weeks ago when the water was higher - but scrambled up the baks in a hurry when it started to rain. It obviously floods right over the road in flood times.

  8. Looks like a lovely place for a drive - although I don't think I would like to go bushwalking there in summer as I am terrified of snakes:(

  9. Could be McPhersons Crossing, one of our favourite picnic spots.

  11. What a wonderful place to explore! Once I am well healed from my 2 recent surgeries, Michael and I plan to explore some of the Clarence region. If you have any gems you are willing to share, I'd love to know. Feel free to email me. :)

  13. What fun driving practice!!
When my kids were learning to drive, we tried to always explore a new place, and we made some great memories doing that.

Hope you're having a great weekend, Karen!

  14. My son and I were laughing the other day, remembering all the beginner driver mistakes he and his siblings used to make. Especially the sharp starts and stops. Good that we have so many fond memories.
