I am just amazed at the beauty of some of our Australian native plants when I really have a close look at them. This is another, much smaller grevillea which we have planted in our garden.
Grevillea lavendulacea usually has pink or red flowers, sometimes white. Our particular one is a pinky-red. Each flower piece is only an inch or 2.5cm long. Thankfully it is a hardy plant, flowering in winter and spring, growing to a height of around one yard/metre.
I took these photos late in the afternoon, holding a piece of black cardboard to help highlight the delicate beauty of these stunning flowers.
