I was very excited when I spotted buds on our small orange tree,
hoping for our first ever home-grown oranges.
With joy I tracked their growth......

And then it was no more.....
Our little orange tree will be using all its energy into growing bigger and stronger leaves and branches.
Maybe next year the "promise" of sweet juicy oranges will come to fruition.

Lovely photos of the blossoms. Ah, the hope and promise of fruit...then discovering that you have to wait until next season again...it reminds me that a lot of the joy in growing things is just about watching and enjoying the tree and the blossoms...

I completely understand! The same thing happens to our tree every year. We planted an orange tree about four years ago. We're still waiting for our first orange! Maybe this year!

I was getting so excited with each new stage of the blossoming and then, only disappointment. I was almost beginning to smell the oranges.
great series of photos, amazing how fast they grow. Sorry they did not get furter but think of it like this: you are anyway able to have such tree growing outside in your garden wich I don't :-)

Do you leave your tripod out for a few days? The images always seem spot on from the same angle.

I don't own a working tripod. I just estimate and then crop and adjust on the computer to help bring the photos into "alignment".
Oh I love how you have tracked the growth of these little buds. It produced a lovely flower. Never mind you will eventually get lots of lovely oranges and how great will that be - lucky you. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder how often that happens in our lives... we seem to blossom and show promise of great things then it is finished and people show disappointment and we feel discouragement at the seemingly failure of our lives.
God is always working in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. We will have a harvest if we wait patiently for it.
Sometimes we must search out our hearts and see if there be anything we need to be feeding it... but like your tree sometimes we just need to put our strength into growing stronger before the fruit will come.
I absolutely LOVE this series of photographs! So many time I have thought about doing this, and then for one reason or another, never followed through. You have inspired me to do so. Now all I have to do is wait the many months for spring to arrive!
