Beach Morning Glory

The tolerance of harsh conditions which some plants show amazes me. On our recent beach holiday I took time to look more closely at this common trailing beach plant which is native to this area as well as other similar coastal areas here and overseas.

Here you can see the plants thriving on the dunes, helping to stabilise this vulnerable, windswept area. Late afternoon you can see the shrivelled remains of the day's flowers and tomorrow's promising buds.

The shapes of the leaves and buds are filled with wonderful curves.

Early in the morning each day's flowers open wide.

A very delicate flower for a plant which has hardy leaves and grows in a seemingly inhospitable environment.
Another of God's beautiful surprises for us to enjoy in nature.

Jest im trudno, ale chcą żyć. Śliczne kwiatuszki. Drugim zdjęciem jestem zachwycona. Pozdrawiam ciepło. *** It is difficult for them, but they want to live. Beautiful flowers. The second photo is delighted. With best wishes.

Beautiful photos!

Your beaches are lovely... untouched and unspoiled. Our beaches here are lined with houses, motels, hotels and condos.
