"Mystery" Brights

"Cockscomb Coral Gardens" reads the tag which came with the seedlings. "Similar to Celosia....with twitted crests resembling a rooster's comb". Gail guessed well in response to my previous post!

They may still be tiny but they certainly are vibrant.

Looking forward to watching them change and grow even bigger, although they are rather cute at this stage.

Perfect subject for a macro shot--so much detail to uncover in one flower. Your first photo is just stunning!

These are pretty and unique. I especially like the pink and yellow together. I've tried to grow Celosia in the past, but was never very successful.

You never fail to amaze me with your clear, stunning closeups and excellent use of DOF. and great backgrounds too. Please don't tell me these were taken with your Lumix too?

Karen @ Pieces of Contentment said...

Ocean Soul, I had to go and check which photos were taken with which camera as I use both regularly. Only two of these were taken with my Lumix, the red one (taken yesterday in the garden) and the very last. I love both my cameras but somehow the Lumix is special as it it so versatile yet inexpensive.

Your flowers are beautiful! Cockcombs are so very soft and plush looking. Thanks for the views :)

The orange cockscomb is so luscious it looks almost edible! These are fantastic shots - you have captured the detail and surface qualities so well.

I associate cockscomb with my grandmother. When I used to visit she would show me her red cockscomb in the garden. I think I probably asked to see it every time. I loved looking at it but also touching it. I still love it, but don't see it very often.Thank you for sharing it on Mandarin Orange Monday:)
