Around Home

Sunshine, hot, hot days and spring storms see our home garden brimming with life and bright colours. I know many of you are beginning to see first snow, helping me appreciate our colourful surrounds afresh, wanting to share them with you.

A blueberry crop of only two, fragrant frangipani (plumeria) with six petals instead of the usual five, magnificent jacarandas, bounteous Italian parsley seed heads, tourists enjoying the colours, fresh furry leaves on our bottlebrush and a kookaburra on our pool fence. Another hot and sunny day forecast for tomorrow....

Sharing at Our World Tuesday.

The color exploding of the tropics. Beautiful. From the kookaburra I only remember that one tried to snatch a sandwich away on a Sydney harbor terrace table while we were eating there. But very good looking birds they are.

You have captured some beautiful images of the coming summer. I hope you know the woman in the photo so you can share it with her.

Our town has many tourists during the annual Jacaranda Festival, with noticeably more Asian visitors this year. I observed this woman and her female friend come two days in a row to our closest jacaranda tree taking many photos of each other etc. Maybe if she comes again next year…..then I could offer to take a photo of both together.

Love the Kookaburra, very envious of your warm weather, we seem to be getting a wet, windy spring, with the odd summery day thrown in.

Lovely photo’s Karen, I sure love this rain!
And the skies the moment another thunderstorm rolls in, just magic!

Lovely images, I hope next years crop of blueberries will be better. I'm looking at the fabric on the woman's dress and thinking I'd love to cut that up for a quilt :)
