These are absolutely breathtaking, Karen! You do indeed get some of the most exquisite captures I've ever seen! The water droplets are awesome! Makes me wish I had taken up photography a long time before I did!! And, you have such a great eye for the perfect capture! Hope you have a wonderful week!
These are outstanding! I've never gotten water droplet photos that I'm satisfied with. Can you share some of the technical details? That first shot just jumps off the screen!
I completely enjoy all your photographs - your talent is amazing and your shots are always so beautiful!! These are truly amazing - so vibrant. I love waterdrop photos.
Thank you everyone, your comments are very encouraging.
These are taken with my Lumix fixed lens super zoom camera, handheld (same as all my photos). It's smaller than a DSLR and not too heavy or expensive. I can hold an umbrella in one hand and shoot with the other if necessary. I use iPhoto for editing. Here's a post on my camera if you are interested - http://piecesofcontentment.blogspot.com/2011/07/my-cameras-and-gear.html
This is wonderful! I carry a spray bottle in my camera bag but often forget about it. In fact, I haven't used it since I got my macro lens. This is on the 'must do' list!
I hope you're not expecting a complete constructive sentence from me here other than - amazing!!!!!! But it's beyond that even. Your mastering level keeps raising the bar. Brilliant work.
your photos are sooo beautiful!! and even more impressive knowing what camera you used! i've been wanting to get a lumix p&s but you have persuaded me even more :)
Beautiful macro shots. Perfectly placed focus and sufficient depth of field. I am jealous of the third one- still waiting to add it reflections in the drops to my portfolio.
Karen, I rarely cannot pick a favorite shot, I always have one favorite but this time I really cannot pick only one! I dont which one to select to make it my favorite. I narrowed it down to the first one and the last one but I love the ones in between too!
I am in California and found your website by accident - your photography is stunning! I have been really enjoying your posts almost daily. I would love to know... what camera you take these shots with?
Hi Honey, I'm pleased you are enjoying my blog and photos. These were taken with my Lumix fixed lens superzoom. You can see it in this post http://piecesofcontentment.blogspot.com.au/2011/07/my-cameras-and-gear.html
Shortly after this post I bought a Raynox macro conversions lens to let me take even closer macros with my Lumix. The details of it are here http://piecesofcontentment.blogspot.com.au/2012/02/closer-view.html
In April I bought my first DSLR, a Canon 600D. The Raynox works fine with it too.
I tend to use both my Lumix and Canon 600D each week. The Lumix is lighter and more convenient to take out with me. It also is great for macro. The Canon is bulkier but gives me greater control over settings (which I am still learning) and is better in low light situations.
My Lumix is nearly three years old now. They have released two or three since then, each with good reports. If my Lumix wore out I'd be looking to buy their most recent super zoom (DMC-FZ200) with Leica lens as a replacement - it looks great.
