The Fullness of Spring

Yes, it's Spring. We welcome more bright flowers (thanks to Miss O's gardening endeavours) and birdsong fills the air. Although I must admit that garden flowers and birdsong are a constant throughout the year in our warm climate.

Kookaburras perched on our neighbour's clothesline, up to four at a time this particular afternoon, as they swooped backwards and forwards, and snapping up insects nearby. The beautiful orchid is also just over our fence, yet clearly visible, wrapped around her avocado tree.

A little hand sewing is my current 'making', using fabrics and papers I had previously cut for my now completed Peaceful Night quilt. I'm not yet sure where this will lead but I'm happy to piece with these low volume 'remnants', the pleasure of busy hands being satisfaction enough for now.

Smokey days and cloud swept skies are a great combination for colourful sunsets, reflected wonderfully in our wide river. I do enjoy the fullness of Spring, warm and bright.

I am very jealous of your beautiful Spring Karen! We are still in the throes of winter here, with wind and rain and rather cool temperatures! Love that cornflower- my favourite flower of all!

Cornflowers are beautiful aren't they Susan. We’ve been having a very pleasant Spring - and relatively cool with only a couple of days above 30. I’ve been savouring the mild days and coolish nights with just enough rain to keep things green. Summer will no doubt come soon enough for both of us.

I like seeing your emerging spring. I'm surprised so much is blooming, but as you say, your climate is warm year round. The colors on your river are magical.

Miss O's efforts have surely paid off, Karen! The flowers are just beautiful.
Here in NY, most of our flowers are history now, but some are holding on.
We had our first major frost last night, and are due for another tonight.
It is indeed Fall here!

Happy day to you, my friend!

I tend to go kicking and screaming (only in my mind, of course ;-) into Autumn, because then comes winter. I like that I get to enjoy Spring (and then Summer) through you and your lens

I need Miss O to come and give me a consultation on my garden - it is a mess, and no flowers in sight! That purple flower in particular is so beautiful. Love your new low volume EPP Karen. I am interested - do you glue baste for EPP? Hope you are having a lovely week xx
