Yesterday afternoon I made good progress on the dress and last night I hand-hemmed it, so now it is ready to wear. It is such a pretty dress and looks lovely on Miss V. She really likes the blue bow at the back but isn't too sure about wearing it (she will rarely wear a dress or skirt by choice). I would love for her to wear it tomorrow for Mother's Day but I dare not ask. I have made it, now she needs to own it and wear it if and when she wants to. I hope it becomes well worn....

Looks lovely, I hope she wears it!
the dress is lovely and Miss V is a beautiful model. I hope she can use it by the mother's day!
happy day.
What a pretty dress!
Thank you Deanne, Andrea and Cary. Well, Mother's Day is nearly over and no, Miss V chose not to wear a dress today. That's ok. I trust in her own good time she will.
Miss V is missing a great joy of pleasing others. I know for one you would be pleased and I can say with complete faith that others would see her in that dress and be pleased too. I know I was pleased by just seeing her in the photos wearing the pretty dress.
When Charlotte wears her girly dresses you would not believe the comments I receive from others of how they love seeing girls wearing dresses.
Yet, what is a mother to do? We just love them for who they are!
I agree with you Cathy. As a family we are all somewhat shy and don't really like to draw attention. Our girls mostly tend to avoid wearing nice clothes and dressing up so as to evade compliments. I guess it's better than the other extreme, but a balance is best.
What a lovely dress you have made for your daughter. The fabric is simply delightful.
taking gorgeous pictures of her in it will change her mind!
In Canada we would almost call that an Ann of Green Gable dress... Love it!
Look at your work and your top stitching, so perfect.
