Flower Wasp |
Found this morning, I have never seen an insect like it before. |
Miss N (14) shelling a macadamia nut, our neighbour's tree overhangs our backyard. |
Grasshoppers are cute when this small! |
My favourite of Miss E's recent drawings. She is about to turn 4 and can almost write her name. |
Another unusual visitor this week. |
Some recent garden photos and joys to share with you.
I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.
Sharing at Our World Tuesday.

Your flower/bug shots are so vivid - makes me yearn for spring. I think Miss E is drawing your zinnias. Good for her to be able to write her name already!
Oh my goodness. Your Miss E cute by the looks of this. Love what you have shared . Your macros are to say the lease fantastic.
Great photos, great drawing!
Thank you for sharing these amazing creatures and flowers that you have all around you - I'm so glad you 'see' them!
Beautiful shots as usual! Love them all.
Another wonderful post! I love your shots of the flowers and visiting bugs!! I think Miss E just may become an artist! Hope all of you have a lovely weekend!

Love seeing these wonderful photos ... a bright spot in these winter days!
Beautiful colours, the grasshopper and caterpillar are highlights for me.
Visits to your garden are curious.
Mother Earth knows how to surprise us every time we watch.
The miracle of life that we encounter in our every gesture.
The design of the "girl" is beautiful.
Progress in small steps for big joys.
Thanks for the colorful poetry that I put in these your pages.
Days are kind to you.
Best wishes ..
Niki
Um - excuse me? Where's my warning email? I'm still recovering from the shock of the frogs the other day! No, actually I'm just joking. I'm fine with it now - because the fact is the awe I feel in looking at how you've taken the photos way outweigh my reaction to the subject itself. Incredible captures of your first and fourth - like, really incredible. And your last one is SO clear - look at all those hairs. I can taste the macadamia flavour in those nuts.
Grossartige Macros, bin beeindruckt...

The photos are so beautiful that even the critters look great!
Hi there - very good set of macro shots.
I think your mystery insect is an Assassin Bug – it’s a carnivore!
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Thank you Stewart, looks like you may be right. Assassin bugs seem to come in a great variety.
Great macros, Karen!
I found myself grabbing one of my trusty wildlife books and thought it was perhaps an Assassin Bug... and then saw that Stewart thought the same.
I love that furry caterpillar. You do have some lovely insects in your yard.
LOVE Miss E's drawing (I have so many treasured drawings in a box).
Have a lovely weekend :)
Your macro photography is AMAZING! The things we pass by so rapidly every day are what we should be stooping down to look at closely so we can savor their beauty and wonder. Thanks for some great shots!
