Spring Holidays

Grevillea Lavendulacea

Some wearable sewing - for me!

Eureka Lemon

Magpie

Sunbathing snapdragons

Crested Hawk/Pacific Baza

Local paper photo shoot

Spring and school holidays make for a wonderful combination for colour and activity. A new visitor to our backyard was yesterday's Crested Hawk, also known as the Pacific Baza (caught on camera by one of the children). Our two week school/homeschool holiday is over half way through - a fact I will try to ignore for now, enjoying each life-filled day as it comes.

Sharing at Wild Bird Wednesday, SkyWatch Friday.

I like the first one too Jette - it’s a beautiful Australian native flower - and it requires not attention to grow well.

A lovely series of interesting photos. Never seen ant thin like your hawk before. He is a beauty! Loved the flower and the seedlings, your little girl with that neat Lego helicopter, all just great shots! Happy Spring to you :)

Sorry, auto correct went wacky on 'ant thin'. Should have been 'anything' :)

Your bird photos are fabulous - and so different from what we see in NZ.

You take beautiful photos, Karen.
Those are quite the birds, just lovely.
Enjoy your spring weather.
Here in Colorado, we had snow for the first time this morning on the mountain behind our home. That is always so beautiful with the colors on the trees.
Sweet blessings to you, Debbie

Thanks for sharing the hawk photos, Karen -- looks so exotic compared to our North American hawks. And lovely to see a yellow lemon -- I just brought my little tree in off the patio and it has a dozen green ones, but it will be January before I see any hints of yellow. Enjoy the spring holiday time!

That crested hawk looks like he has some attitude. Fantastic weather down this way for the holidays, looks like you're getting the same.

Great set of shots - lets hope the real sky-crane (which we call Elvis) does not get too much work this summer.

Funny that the crested hawk looks like a cockatoo. A really disguise in the australian bird landscape. Also a great skywatch here. I like it.

Oh My Goodness, I love Raptors and had never even heard of a Crested Hawk before, NICE!!!

Looks as if you had some fine weather for the school holidays. Melbourne weather was kind at times, but liked to keep us on our toes with some big winds, grey skies and icy hail in between. Grand photos.
