A Rare Treat

This week the Chamber Philharmonia Cologne had a one night concert in our town.

Living in a country town far from any large city, an opportunity like this wasn't to be missed. Accompanied by  my four eldest daughters, three of whom play instruments themselves, we enjoyed a sensational evening out.

Lovely! My family and I went to a concert a few nights ago as well. Such a treat! What did this orchestra play?

HI Karen, we went to see the same chamber orchestra in Byron Bay last night. They were amazing! The music brought tears to my eyes. OUr whole family went. Too good an opportunity to miss.
Lots of love X

I had thought we may all go too, but some weren't keen on the idea, so it became a girls night out (a first). I'm pleased you enjoyed it so much Anna. I was amazed at the range in volume they were able to achieve too. Loved the finale with the operatic singing.

Emily, I have the program in front of me so now I can answer your question intelligently! They played Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons", Mozart's "Divertimento in D Major KV 136", Tchaikowski's "Elegie" and Bach's "Concerto in D minor for Obe, violin and orchestra". Elise would be more able to converse in the finer details. I just loved the entire experience.

Oh, beautiful! The orchestra we went to played Vivaldi's Winter from his Four Seasons, and Mozart's 40th Symphony in G major. Classic music never fails to amaze me.

So much more inspiring in real life too as opposed to listening to a CD.
