Tiny!

A little pruning in the garden unexpectedly revealed this baby praying mantis. He was so tiny and soon jumped away into the bushes, not to be seen again. I love his delicate colour, yet like the black and white image too.

Sharing at Black and White Wednesday and Macro Friday.

Very delicate, almost translucent in Black & White. Great capture.

Good morning,
That composition makes for a striking picture in black and white. I would never have expected that.
Let me know if you'd care to make it mouse-over together.

Those things used to freak me out when I spent my summers in the country. I've never seen a baby one. It's a lot cuter than its parents. :) Great shot!

HAHA! This winter my son accidentally hatched out an entire nest of these in his underwear drawer!!!

We found a nest on a branch once and it was hauled up onto the veranda, we had no idea what was in it until hundreds of these hatched out.
