Superb Blue Wren

These beautiful little native blue wrens have a nest amongst a vine-covered wall of our house. Sometimes called Superb Fairy-Wrens, the female is also tiny but lacks the male's delightful colours, being light brown in colour.

We often see Superb Blue Wrens flitting around and hear their gentle chirping. However they rarely stay still for a second. I've tried for weeks to snap a decent photo of this resident male to share. This afternoon I have had relative success.

I hope to catch some better photos one day, but these will give you a good idea of their delicate beauty.

Sharing at World Bird Wednesday.

We have a pair of Blue Wrens that have visited our front yard a bit over the last few weeks. I have tried to capture them a few times but they move too fast.

great photos of a beautiful little bird. Many years ago I had a friend that could make their little noise and have them come in and sit around in the grass.
