Gardening and Appointments

A lovely cool summer's day, just right for a little weeding, digging and planting this morning. We are slowly progressing towards the finish line for this year's school work as the children gradually recover from a nasty cold.

I couldn't resist adding a pink flowering strawberry to our small collection of white and red flowering strawberry plants.

A punnet of six petunia seedlings, now planted out, have replaced the poolside parsley which has gone to seed.

A dental appointment and a visit to the optometrist to choose glasses frames were planned with one young princess for the afternoon. However by early afternoon it was clear that our teenage son desperately needed to see a doctor today for his asthma, a week after coming down with the cold. Thankfully my husband was able to slip out from work to accompany him while I was at the dentist with princess. Pathology, chemist etc all done and medical certificate for my husband who now has the nasty cold too....

Coming home from a late grocery shop I was greeted by the smells of a delicious Indian vegetable curry which my eldest was cooking for dinner. Having a wonderful adult child at home is such a blessing, especially on days like today.
The finale of my afternoon....eating the big, fat strawberry from the top photo, yum!

All veges for the curry bought from the shops. Our veges in the garden are very few. Flowers and strawberries tend to be more rewarding this year.

Piękne zdjęcia. Narobiłaś mi smaku na truskawki prosto z krzaczka, ale ja u nas też mogę zjeść - mrożone :-).Mam nadzieję, że choroba już mija. Pozdrawiam

How lovely seeing those strawberry plants and the red of the strawberry. Especially nice seeing it on a cold and rainy day in texas. Wonderful coming home to a nicely cooked dinner too. what a wonderful experience to have a child that is happy to contribute ! Blessings and what a lovely post. Also, love the music on your blog, and the sounds of the birds chirping!

Sounds like you are one busy lady. So nice to have kids that "help out". Beautiful strawberry--almost too perfect to eat. Hope you don't get sick--I think your services are needed to take care of everyone else. Take care. Mickie :)

Love the strawberries. My daughter is growing strawberries, she loves going out each morning to see if there are any red ones to eat :)

The berry looks like it was hanging from a strawberry jar...or that is what we call them anyway. I plant herbs in mine.

You are right Cathy, it's hanging from one of the small side spots in a herb planter, one which some of the children bought for strawberries a couple of years ago. The strawberries are responding nicely to some weeding and watering now that I have taken over their care.
