Gingerbread House

Tonight we drove around our town, looking at the Christmas lights. This house is one which draws many visitors every December night each year. For the first time we stopped to have a closer look. I call it The Gingerbread House.

The local ice cream van was parked outside selling ice-cream cones, being summer here. We were in for a surprise as reshuffled with the crowd through the driveway to discover this huge reindeer the backyard!

It does kind of look like a gingerbread house. The reindeer looks bigger than the house :)

The idea that you can get an icecream on the street with christmas unbelievable here. The light decorations are a bit the same. Thanks for showing. Have a nice christmas and a good 2012.

Hi Pieces of Sunshine,
There are folk who go to a lot of trouble each December in the way they decorate their homes and yards, beautiful many are too, like the one you have shared... fancy doing the backyard also... what a treat for Children.

In Queensland's Maryborough there's now an annual competition held, and tours provided to see all the Christmas homes.

As a child growing in Sydney way back, I used to enjoy going to Town with my Parents at night and viewing the Story Scenes created along each of the larger Store's display windows.

December is definitely a special month of the year.

A wonderful 2011 Christmas and a rewarding 2012 for you also,
from Magda and Crew in Australia
