Street Side

Having seen this nearby, small tree for many years, I have never really "seen" the flowers! How is it that one can be so unobservant? Blogging, or more particularly, photography with a purpose, has certainly opened my eyes to the world around me in more ways than one.

Again I don't know the name of this tree but suspect it may be Australian. Can anyone help me out here?
The flowers have a light sweet scent and the ants and bees are rather fond of it.

This morning I managed to snap this butterfly dining on the flowers too.

Sharing at Macro Monday, The Simple Things.

I adore the image of the butterfly, so vibrant, I felt as if I could fall into the picture.

Can't help you with the tree identification though♥

Just one chance with this one, and a gentle wind was blowing too. Grabbed the branch with one hand to steady it and snapped with the other, then it flew away....

I like the photo with the butterfly!
And you are so right, the more we look through the lens the more we "see".

I agree that taking photos, especially closeups, really open your eyes. Beautiful photos...and I love the music in the background.

Great shot of the butterfly, not sure about the tree, I thought maybe an acacia, reminds me of one we had in our yard in Brisbane.

what a lovely tree - and an amazing capture of the butterfly. Sadly I don't now the name of this tree - are you in Queensland? everything looks so lush - perhaps an identification book will help you.
I am adding you to my links.
have a wonderful week.

Fabulous butterfly shot and I can relate to your first comment. Dorothea Lange said "A camera is a tool for learning how to see without a camera." Oh so true!
