Garden Critters

Some critters from the last few days, each different and wonderful in their own way.

These baby insects were all sitting on this same blade of grass for at least two days, I wonder where they are now....

I spotted two of these funny stick cocoons perched on top of a couple of straw flowers a few days ago. As I watched they moved a little, something was alive inside! Saturday I found this one with its tiny inhabitant snacking on the daisy. It has also glued some of the petals onto its home, very clever.

Today I couldn't see them until I looked under the two flowers they have been living on. I was amazed to see them carefully hidden on the underside of their respective daisies!

You are so good to me. - thanks for my forewarning email. Even though I know you'd allow me to be exempt from commenting considering the content I simply HAVE to comment on your photo with the ants on the leaves. I really liked that.

Oooh...I love your photos!! I love the little guys on the blade of grass!! Great capture!! May I ask what lens you are using for these photos?? (I am just a beginner!)
Thank you!!

Pieces of Sunshine said...

Hi Sweet 7D, thank you for your wonderful comments.
In answer to your question about my lens, it's a Raynox conversion macro lens. I've only had it a few weeks and have a post on it here

You will also see my camera which isn't a DSLR . Within the post is a link with more details on my camera also.

Oh my word, your photos are INCREDIBLE!!!! I have been noticing more and more critters coming out now that it's springtime. I found a tiny turtle on my sidewalk this afternoon and had to run back inside to grab my camera! Critters make such good subjects! :)
