Winter Beaching

Along the country back roads and down to the coast we went today for my brother and his family are holidaying at the beach.

Mid winter, every second year, they make this interstate pilgrimage for he loves fishing and the memories he holds dear of this place. It is also the time of his birthday. We always visit for the day and have a wonderful time. Two years ago the weather was glorious, not so much today.

We all had a wonderful day together. The weather forecast for this week suggests they will be having some splendid warm sunny days before their holiday is over, perfect for beach play, fishing and celebrating a birthday!

Funny that you call this winter. The weather and the clothing here is the same and we call it summer. Hope it will get better. Have a nice weekend.

Wszyscy byli szczęśliwy. Brat bo miał wspaniłych gości na urodziny i dzieci, bo mogły się pobawić na plaży zimą. Pozdrawiam.
Everyone was happy. Brother because he had wspaniłych guests for birthdays and children, because they can have fun at the beach in winter. Yours.

Lovely photos - shame about the weather though. We went up to Kingscliff yesterday to visit my brother and his family and saw quite a lot of whales from their balcony.

Dear Karen, That's lovely that you had an obviously enjoyable and pleasant time with your brother and your nieces and nephews. Can I please ask a question about that sewing that your little people are doing - (keeping in mind that my sewing prowess is completely minimal !!) The cotton looks quite thick - is that some kind of embroidery cotton? And can you buy kits that have a pattern or lines you can clearly follow? Not for a quilt, I'm just thinking of a plain square that I could make into something. Hope you're going ok, Renee.

I love the beach in winter but this winter has been a bit trying. I'm glad it didn't seem to spoil your day there. Fabulous family photos and scenery.

Glorious photos! Those pics with the beach and the cloudy sky in the distance make me long to visit the ocean again. We saw it last summer and it was breath-taking in its vastness...
