"Nature Play" Quilt Finished!

I love the satisfaction of completing a quilt and being pleased with the end result. For this quilt I have used a variety of Patty Young fabrics and fine tuned the design as I went. Hand quilting with variegated sulky threads worked well for this design and was quite relaxing to do. It's certainly a "happy/playful" feel quilt.

Love the colours, so bright and cheery, where are you going to put it?

The prints and colors are beautiful, and the white sashing really makes it pop.

I think the dandelions are my current favorite fabric.

What a fun quilt! Sounds like you might be quilter I will enjoy watching! I love quilting, though I don't have enough time to do it often. When I do, I love to use lots of color! This turned out beautiful. I am visiting from Five Brothers One Sister, I am also your newest follower!

Thanks everyone, good to know I'm not the only one who likes this quilt.

Deanne I plan to have it around the house for general use. I will enjoy looking at it and it feels very soft and smooth. In the cooler months it will be well used.

Dan, I agree with you on the white sashing. I often use white and brights together.

Melissa, welcome! I will enjoy a look around your blog too. I didn't think I had time to even learn to quilt but I jumped in and taught myself bit over a year ago. Maybe I'll write a post about it one day. I love having a creative project on the go, even if I can't work on every day.

It really is a work of art. I love beautiful fabrics that can brighten our lives by the use we put them to.
Would love to have a quilting day together, pity we live so far now.
I hope you pop over to my blog when you are ready and take a look at what we do together with the children. Love to have you follow too.
Just out of interest are the girls interested in doing a project together with you. It would be a great memory building time.
Blessings
Gae

Thank you Gae. There are so many beautiful fabrics available these days too.
I have enjoyed looking around you blog many times over the last couple of years.
Not many of our girls are keen on sewing but maybe a special one off project together would be doable. Something for me to keep in mind.

You are an artist not only with the camera but with the needle too. Amazing work and eye you have. I am so bummed that I came to the end of all your post on your quilting.

Beautiful happy colors and patterns you chose.
