The world of macro photography gives us a further glimpse into the awesome and intricate details of God's creation.
Just recently I discovered that my little snap-on Raynox macro conversion lens will also work with my telephoto kit lens (55-250mm), giving me opportunity to move in even closer. Today I took time to experiment and have some fun with this combination.
First photo has minor cropping, taken at 55mm.
The last two photos are not cropped at all. The one above is taken at 123mm, the one below at 250mm, minor editing only - no cropping, no tripod.
The keys to using the Raynox with both my old fixed-lens camera and my DSLR are manual focusing, keeping the camera steady (easier when sitting down or leaning the camera against something) and patience. The results are delightful and fascinating to me.

I don't have a tripod but my kit lenses do have Image Stabilisation. I also try to sit down, making bit of a tripod by resting elbows on my knees where possible.
Sometimes a tripod would be handy but I mostly like to wander free without extra lenses or gear even if I'm only in my backyard.

Yes, agreed. Macro shots are better when you're really really steady, so sitting or leaning up against something is often very helpful in that regard. And oh my GOODNESS! You're just brilliant. :) xo
Macro tugs at my heart and your photos are awesome. I do not have the lens you do but do have a Sony close up macro lens type filter with a +3.00 diopter power. Amazing how GOD put so much detail that we cant see with our eyes. Thanking him we can with the aide of our cameras. Keep up the good work.
