The Circus has been in town this week! One evening I took 7 of our children who were keen to go, we even had a few minutes of sunshine while we waiting before more showers came through.

I was hoping to be able to share some photos of the circus but no photography of performances was allowed, due to copyright reasons. We all enjoyed our evening, although I think I would have enjoyed it more without so many animal acts.....however the children loved seeing the animals. The lions were Miss E's favourites! (I'd rather see the animals free to roam in the wild or a very large zoo)
Too cold and windy for swimming today.
Definitely too wet to hang washing on our lines, instead it is hung on several drying racks under the house.
But not too wet to prevent beauty from being seen around us.
Update: After a rather wild afternoon with strong winds, thunder and hours of heavy rain bringing some flash flooding/ponding, the weather has mostly settled. All of our large catchment area also received considerable rain. We will have to wait and watch the river and flood warnings carefully over the next two days as the water makes its way towards us and lighter showers continue on.

Love the frangipani! I don't think I have ever been to a circus! They were not popular when my boys were little! Looks like I will have to wait til I have some grand children!
Karen, even in the rain your photos look gorgeous. Hopefully the wild weather has eased. Nikki
It's been raining here in the afternoon all week. The downside is that the days are super hot before getting some cool relief in the afternoon, the upside that the grass grows like crazy in this weather - good news for our cows!
Have a lovely weekend!

It's been pouring for the last three hours and very windy....anybody want some excess rain???
Technically we're copping a mild tropical cyclone/hurricane, bearing the brunt of it but it's moving quickly.
I´d prefer rain to snow right now actually - let´s trade! :-)
I'm replying to 3 of your posts in one due to 2 crazy weeks which allowed for minimal 'me' time. Your quilt looks divine - no encouraging comments required - it's quite simply amazing. I'm so pleased you wrote that you stood back and had a little admire - you fully deserve to - the asthetics alone are impressive. I found the same situation at the circus when I took the kids too in our area before Christmas in regards to no photos - I ended up buying the photo book and was really interested in the whole Australia history of the circus families - so many are intertwined, I found the whole thing fascinating. Simply loved those mushroom/fungi shots from the day before - so beautifully detailed.
I'd like to go to the circus, but in Italy it costs a lot ... beautiful photos of frangipane!
Have a good w.e. Karen!

I love the colors in the circus photos - so vibrant. Wow, it really looks wet in your corner of the world. The flower is just so beautiful!
Twoje deszczowe zdjecia są śliczne, ale lepiej nich on przestanie padać. Pozdrawiam cieplutko.
Your rainy pictures are beautiful, but you better have it stop raining. Regards warm.
Awesome photos!
beautiful images! :)
Although even rain makes for beautiful pictures of the daily things like the washing lines, and of course flowers, I really hope and pray you've had all the rain there was to have for now and there will be no flooding this time.
Thinking of you.
Marian
beautiful impressions and your frangipani is very poetic !!
The circus visits our area next month. We're always looking toward spring, but on several occasions, it has snowed while the circus was in town. One year, so much snow fell during the performance that people were stranded at the venue overnight. What a pretty white/yellow flower, is that what others refer to as "frangipani?"
Hi PattisJarrett,
Sleeping overnight in the Big Top - that would be something to remember!
Yes the flower is a frangipani. They come in pinks and orange-yellows too. We have a huge frangipani outside our back door. They drop their leaves in the autumn so we still enjoy the winter sunshine.
This Melbourne girl can only dream of such rain. And the fragrance of frangipani...
As always, beautiful pics. :)
Stuck at home again! The frangipani is beautiful.
Oh no I do hope that the rain goes away and doesn't produce any more flooding. Beautiful photo of your frangipani tree. Take care.
I bet the circus was fun in spite of the wet conditions. I too would rather see the animals in a very large enclosure and not in a zoo or circus.
