A misty morning preludes another hot and steamy "autumn" day. The last few days have been more like mid summer, concluding in scattered thunderstorms. Autumn coolness will surely come. In the meantime I'm loving these Comos flowers grown from seeds collected from a kerbside garden.
PS There is an update on last week's Bright and Warm post showing my quilting decision regarding the large triangles. Thank you to those who ventured an opinion.

Sounds and looks like our August dog days.
What can I say but perfect .... you have mastered the art of macro-photography beautifully.
These are pretty. Please send the warm weather this way!

Beautiful flowers! Do you have autumn colors of the leaves like we have in Holland?
We are waiting for spring, fresh green leaves and blossom.
Marmarel, we have a few trees with autumn colours but not many. Our winter is not too different to our summer to look at except after frosts when the grass burns off.
Oj jak bardzo tych cudownych widoków w naszych ogrodach. Zima cały czas króluje. Pozdrawiam.
Oh how much these wonderful views of our gardens. Winter still reigns. Yours.
La terza foto è strepitosa!

Great flower shots. In the coming month we will see a lot of orange in the netherlands with the crowing of our new king. So your flowers match perfectly for the occasion.
Simply gorgeous shot Karen. Love the last capture so much. And the morning mist is too lovely.
Take care :)
Stunning colours - we are still very cold here in the UK, but these have sent some warmth over.
Such amazing color. Great shots my friend.
Hugs~
These are lovely photos... I really needed to see something so bright and sunny as we are still in a terribly cold Spring ?.. in fact I'm not certain that we can call it spring as the snow is very deep still. The only good news right now is that we are supposed to have a very damp and wet spring which will be very good for the gardens As I am looking forward to a recovery from last year's drought ... Take care ! Larry
No flowers here yet, but at least sun has been shining lately and the snow is starting to melt..
What a lovely blog! I'll be back!

Gorgeous flowers again and so beautifully photographed. I thought maybe they were Coreopsis flowers when I saw them first but then read they're Cosmos. What a very special kind/colour of Cosmos.
As hot and steamy autumn is where you live, as cold and freezing spring is over here.
Bye,
Marian
Did you change the background colour of your blog? Love it!
Marian
Lovely shots!!! I especially like the last one!
They are stunning! Spring hasn't arived here yet.
love the contrast in the last one:) happy new week from tulipland...
Such vivid, happy colored flowers! Your photography is beautiful.
We are still buried in piles of messy snow..
I love our winters, but this time of year the snow thaws all day & freezes at night.. it gets dirty & messy & crunchy & slushy.. Sunshine & flowers are a cheerful thought right now!
I'm fond of your first and second photo - the first because of the depth of field plus the colour. And the second because of the bokeh, the sweet composition and again, the colour. Thanks, Renee.
wow I adore this last photograph with full on black background. Had you done it with camera settings I suspect? What camera are you using to do this? I think full on dslr
You are right Carole. Each of these were taken in the garden with my Canon 600D + 50mm lens. However the black background isn't in the original - it was achieved by editing in iPhoto (adjusting levels, exposure and contrast).
That cosmo is just gorgeous, and your focus is so perfect!
Lovely flower photos! Delightful.
