Some of the good thoughts shared by our gentle pastor today from John C. Maxwell's book, Winning With People.
I plan to think on them this week and to continue to enjoy our garden's mid-winter joys....
Photographic note - all photos were taken this weekend with my Canon DSLR+50mm lens+ Raynox snap-on super macro conversion lens.

Beautiful pictures to a simple yet powerful message. Thanks you for sharing! I love these snippets you share from your pastor as well as the photos!
Such beautiful, dreamy images...
Such beautiful images you've captured here, Karen! I love the light and composition in #2 & 4, and the beautiful bokeh in image #4. What type of flower is that? Fun how you captured little critters on the flowers too and framed them so perfectly! It's so nice that you still have flowers to photograph even in winter. :)
Good thoughts today from your pastor too. Sounds like it might be a good book to look into.
I am extremely impressed with your $80 snap on lens. My macro was stolen last year...I wish I had known how well this worked before I replaced my expensive one. )o:
The depth of field (or should I say lack of it) is wonderful!
Wow!!!
These clicks are so beautiful :)
Hi! Beautiful macro shots. How beautiful they are! And very interesting words.
Wishing you a wonderful week ahead.
I really like this, Karen, especially the third one. These words are definitely ones to think about. Often.
These photographs are just gorgeous! So much beautiful summer color.
A very Happy Day to you!
Awesome pictures and words:)
Good series, now you're in the winter season, because it seems spring .... nice flowers .. some with breakfast .. Cheers Tony
Stunning pictures and a lovely post too Karen! Sarah xx
wow the photos!
Such true words. Thanks for sharing them here.
Beautiful flower pictures; mid winter? It looks like summer. I was glad the African Daisies here finally opened their flower leaves again this week. They love the sun that finally arrived.

Hi Karen,
Wow, gorgeous, gorgeous photos! I am super impressed with your macro conversion lens.
And the sentiments you shared are so valuable and worth being reminded of. Thank you very much for that.
Wishing you a great week ahead!
Sorry for the delay in reply to this post - but I have to shout a confirming 'yes' to your message. It is so true - SO true. But a lesson that I don't think is always emphasized to the young. I've been watching this show recently which involves women (celebrities, but not for promotion of their movies, shows etc ) , and the interviewee sometimes ends with the question 'what would you tell your 14yr old self?'. I think my list to my 14 yr old self would go over a page and would definitely include what you've highlighted today. Thanks, Karen.
I've never read this quote before, it is brilliant; simple, powerful and so true.
I often wonder why I took on 7 children when I haven't mastered myself. My only explanation is that God gave them to me and they are helping refine me.
What a wonderful post!
I love your beautiful flower photos.
Thanks for the powerful text!
Amazing captures. Thank you for sharing these on OYGIF.
