Drawn by the golden western sun, I grab my camera and head towards the bridge, my sunset trysting spot.
It had been a full day, having been out on errands twice and also a walk to the bridge earlier today with the children and one of their neighbourhood friends.
New activity surprised us, the familiar scene before our eyes changing without warning.
As we headed home we crossed paths with the Wood Duck family again.
When I last saw them I counted 10 ducklings, today there were 9, each noticeably bigger with more feather markings on their chests. Should I be sad that one has gone, or grateful that 9 remain?
The busy-ness and relentless ordering of family life fills my day, again.
The light is fading, am I too late? As I make it to the bridge, the sky glows golden orange.
I am not too late, I am just in time to witness the splendour of another sunset. I wander slowly back and forth, catching the sinking orb as it slips from view.
I stand, gently collecting photos and filling my soul. I wipe tears from my eyes as I'm lost in another magnificent sunset.
The glory of God shared yet again for all to see, all who have eyes see and ears to hear. In the cool of the evening, I turn for home, having gratefully witnessed another of God's generous miracles.

Beautifulimages and words; in all a beautiful post.
Bye,
Marian
Just this morning I took an extra ten minutes to watch the sun slowly extend over my frosty front lawn. No matter where on the planet you are the sunrise and sunset reminds us all of the beauty and magnificence of God.
Cheers,
Leah
Wonderful sequence of shots. I love the golden sun. That draws me to look too.
Karen, your sunset shot is drawing me into the picture...I too feel a bit of 'mistiness' and the wonder of nature, so amazing. Love, love all your spectacular photos and also of your sweet children as well!
I too captured a spectacular sunset scene last evening, which I will show on my next post.
Thanks for your reply re: the beautiful flower for a great Template background. I was not trying to suggest for you to change your Template, as the one you have is beautiful as well...just merely a statement, that's all:) xoxo
Gorgeous captures, Karen, and such incredible skies and colors! Glorious way to begin or end any day!! Thanks for sharing the beauty!!

"The glory of God shared yet again for all to see, all who have eyes see and ears to hear." So poignant and so true! Love these. Sorry to hear a duckling didn't make it. :(
Once again your images make me smile and give thanks that you share your gifts with us.
Thank you!

Wow, stunningly gorgeous! Love those little ducks too. I can't help but feel a little sad for the missing duckling.
Was für ein Himmel und ganz vorzügliche Fotos.

Good pictures, but isn't this rather dangerous with the train rushing by.
Greetings,

Niebo, woda w złocie, cudownie to wygląda. Wspaniałe zdjęcia zachodu słońca, gratuluję. Pozdrawiam.
The sky, the water in the gold, it looks wonderful. Great photos of the sunset, congratulations. Yours.
My eyes are happy! From where my house is located, I cant see sunsets so your photos are breathtaking.
sad to know one of those sweet babies is gone but hope the rest will make it.
grateful that 9 remain!!
WoW, your sunset is gorgeous, such powerful colors!!
Cute duckling, I would be grateful that 9 are left. I loved the photos, especially the sunset. The colors are beautiful. Lovely photos, thanks for sharing your world.

It is a compelling sunset. I can see why you would be drawn to it.
Beautiful captures of the sky at dusk, and to your question about being sad one duck is missing or happy that there are still 9...that is definitely a difficult question. I can't help but feel sad when a death has occurred in nature.
Especially beautiful first and last photos - the last one has such a gentle feel to it. That's a little sad about the tenth duck - let's hope their family's not reinacting the "5 little ducks went out one day...." nursery rhyme.
Love those ducks! A friend of mine had a pet duck (a beautiful big white one). And what a beautiful place you live in - great sunsets too.
I wiped tears from my eyes too, looking at your beautiful photos, reading your touching comments and recognising the enormity of simply being able to stop and look at God's handiwork. Sometimes these moments need to be stolen.
Well done.
Beautiful, as always.

Awwww... Karen, I'd be sad but glad too. What sweet pictures. I have been so busy that I've barely had time to see all my favorite blogger's these days. I apologize for that. It's nice to be here again, I love your blog so much. xo
Amazing shots my friend. That sunset is gorgeous.
Wow, you've really captured a perfect sunset.

Thar's a stunning colour!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Amazing sky color!...Christine
Absolutely beautiful post!! You have an amazing sunset viewing spot. I have missed Grafton since we moved away 23 years ago and always wished to go back for a weekend or more.
I'd love to get down your way to enjoy it too one day. We are both keen (desperate) for a weekend away somewhere to rest & recharge but finance won't allow accomodation.
Please pray for our situation as we are facing being on the unemployment line as Allans Music close their first 2 shops on Friday... hard, scary times ahead.
Glorious sunset shots. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing sunset photos Karen - Dave
